Foster carers sometimes decide to change fostering agencies. This could be for a wide variety of reasons.
You may feel that you are not being properly supported, you might be experiencing long periods of time when you do not have a child placed with you and you are feeling undervalued. Maybe you have a long way to travel to access training and support groups, or have you been a foster carer for another local authority and recently moved to the area?
If you’re looking for a change and an excellent support service, come and join the team at Sunbeam Fostering Agency. We are always keen to hear from existing foster carers who work for independent fostering agencies or other local authorities.

You are free to choose which agency you register with, but you can only be registered with one agency at a time, so if you decide to transfer to Sunbeam Fostering Agency then you will need to inform your current fostering agency in writing of your intention to apply before the assessment process can begin.
If you currently have children in placement, we will need to meet with your current fostering agency to consider the needs of those children and the effect of any transfer.
We have a great deal of experience in working with Foster carers who wish to transfer from their current agency and the process we follow is covered by the Fostering Network transfer protocol.
