IT Consultant Job Role

The primary role of the IT Consultant is to analyze and improve the IT system on regular basis, PCs/Network troubleshooting, new software installation, software testing, user training and working with other developers on bespoke software application, and smooth running of computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them. Effective management of Office 365 environment and smooth running of Enhanced Next-Gen Firewall system.

Key responsibilities:

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
  • monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks and examine potential security threats and devise plans to mitigate these;
  • Assist in management of Office365 system reliability, security and recommend improvements;
  • talking staff or foster carers through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues;
  • troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults;
  • replacing parts as required;
  • make sure server backup runs normal and no data loss in case of server failure or disaster;
  • providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
  • following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
  • supporting the roll-out of new applications;
  • setting up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
  • responding within agreed time limits to call-outs;
  • working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate);
  • prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time.
  • rapidly establishing a good working relationship with staff and other professionals, e.g., foster carers
  • testing and evaluating new technology and software;
  • maintaining records of software licenses.
  • managing stocks of equipment, consumables, and other supplies.
  • management of CHARMS and designing SQL reports;
  • managing and testing new version of bespoke application for foster carers payments;
  • assistance with data protection;
  • assistance with website management and online marketing

 

Personal Specification

You will be / have:

Need to have at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

  • MCP or any Microsoft qualification
  • Good technical skills
  • Good interpersonal and organization skills
  • Logical mind and capable of working well under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 2016 and office 365
  • Knowledge of Server 2012, 2016, Active directory, DNS and DHCP
  • Basic knowledge of Firewall/VPN/WAN connection
  • Knowledge of MS Exchange and SQL server will be advantageous
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual (English, and fluency in any of the main south Asian languages which is useful for training foster carers).

Sunbeam Fostering Group is one of the largest Independent Fostering Agencies in the UK with a reputation for high standards and outstanding support, training and development.

This role very much involves working with the local community to generate leads for potential foster carers.  This will also entail being creative in finding ways to source potential carers through recruitment events, advertisement, articles in papers and attending community networking events.

This is a high-profile role for a practitioner with excellent communication and gate-keeping skills to ensure robust screening from the onset of liaising with enquirers and during their initial home visit.  It will entail undertaking home visits to ascertain information regarding their potential for a fostering assessment.   The post holder will then track and support the applicant’s progress to becoming a foster carer.  There will also be an element of supporting applicants in terms of ensuring that they are fully satisfied with the service we offer. The role will also entail training foster carers; in particular, facilitating Skills to Foster preparation training.

In addition to the main recruitment role, and subject to workload, there is also scope to provide direct support to looked after children, young people and foster carers working jointly with social workers where appropriate by undertaking individual pieces of work with the child.

Sunbeam Fostering Group is one of the largest Independent Fostering Agencies in the UK with a reputation for high standards and outstanding support, training and development.

Sunbeam Pride Fostering Service, as a part of Sunbeam Fostering Group is seeking experienced Supervising Social Worker for Luton and surrounding areas for undertaking the statutory role of supervising social worker – including to recruit, assess, train, supervise and support post-placement a number of Sunbeam Pride foster carers in line with agency policy and procedures.

Applicants must have a Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Diploma in SW, CQSW or equivalent social work qualification. Applicants should also be SWE registered with 2 years post qualification experience.

You will be expected to work flexible hours, must have a full clean UK driving licence and access to a car and preferably living in Milton Keynes or Northamptonshire area.

Newly qualified social workers and final year student waiting for their registration with Social Work England are also welcome.

Supervising Social Worker – Croydon

Salary up to £32,000 per annum inclusive depending on experience

Sunbeam Fostering Agency is seeking a Supervising Social Worker for Croydon and surrounding areas.

Applicants must have a Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Diploma in SW, CQSW or equivalent social work qualification. Applicants should also be HCPC registered with 2 years post qualification experience in child care and/or fostering work. Preference: experience of placing children in foster and adoption settings, experience of working with fosters carers and other professionals; experience of undertaking and completing assessments of foster carers.

You will be expected to work flexible hours and must have a full clean UK driving license and access to a car.
