Supervising Social Worker – Croydon

Salary up to £34,000 per annum (including London weighting) depending on experience

Sunbeam Fostering Agency is seeking a qualified social worker for Croydon and London area.

Applicants must have a Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Diploma in SW, CQSW or equivalent social work qualification. Applicants must also be HCPC registered with 2 years post qualification experience in child care and/or fostering work. Preference: experience of placing children in foster and adoption settings, experience of working with fosters carers and other professionals; experience of undertaking and completing assessments of foster carers.

Newly qualified social workers are welcome.

You will be expected to work flexible hours and must have a full clean UK driving license and access to a car. Sunbeam Fostering Agency may provide a work permit for the right candidate if necessary.

 IT Officer – London (Langley Head Office, near Slough)

Salary: £16,000 up to £20,000

The primary role of the IT Officer is to support with IT troubleshooting and smooth running of Sunbeam’s computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefits from their utilisation. The role will also include support on IT related areas including hardware and software management, online marketing and data protection.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting in installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
  • Talking staff or foster carers through a series of IT support actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues;
  • Assisting with troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults;
  • Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
  • Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up an IT system;
  • Supporting the roll-out of new software or IT applications;
  • Assisting with setting up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
  • Prioritising and managing many open cases at one time;
  • Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with staff and other professionals, e.g. foster carers
  • Assisting with testing and evaluating new technology;
  • Maintaining records of hardware resources;
  • Managing stocks of IT equipment, consumables and other supplies;
  • Assisting with management of CHARMS, data reporting and designing SQL reports (not mandatory);
  • Assistance with data protection;
  • Assistance with website management and online marketing (if required)

Person Specification

 You will be / have:

  •   A level, BETEC in IT or equivalent in applied business
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7,8 and 10
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Basic computer networking knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to details
  • Ability to prioritise work and to work under pressure
  • Good telephone manner
  • Self-motivation and be ready to go the extra mile
  • Ability to contribute individually and participate in a team
  • Ability to identify areas requiring changes
  • Eager to learn and to complete relevant training for this post

Placement officer – Langley, Berkshire

Salary: up to £28,000 + performance related bonus

Sunbeam Fostering Agency has a vacancy for a Placements Officer at our Langley office responsible for ensuring efficient placements of children with foster carers within the national fostering regulations. The role requires the matching of children with foster parents, as well as the maintaining of accurate and up to date records for each case. Additionally, the post holder will be required to maintain close professional relationships with Local Authorities and liaise with these on a regular basis.

Requirements:

  • Ability to be empathetic while remaining professional in all situations.
  •  Ability to work with sensitive data while adhering to company privacy policies and industry regulations.
  •  Willingness to work closely with local authorities and social workers.
  • Accurate reporting of all placements affairs and contracts.
  • Good understanding and experience using Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable attributes:

  • Previous experience working in a social care or working with children.
  •  Ability to identify opportunities for business development and recruitment of foster carers.

We are currently recruiting for an office Administrative Officer to join our team. Duties would include handling telephone calls, scanning documents, data entry into our bespoke foster care system, document typing, analysis of information, other administrative duties and supporting other staff where needed. You will be flexible, have good communication skills and be a good team player. Need to have a working knowledge of Microsoft office applications and previous office administration experience would be advantageous. A minimum C grade or above in GCSE in English will be required.
