Sunbeam Pride Fostering Agency has a number of foster carers within the Northamptonshire area, but we need more. We are one of the preferred providers with Northamptonshire Council so we receive referrals needing foster carers who can provide a home for young people in the area. However, there are times when we have to say no, we cannot place a young person with a family because we do not have a foster carer available in that area.

Sunbeam Pride Fostering Service have foster carers who live in the Northamptonshire area and a dedicated supervising social worker who supports them who also lives in the area. Meeting the needs of our carers is very important to us and that is why we hold regular support groups for our carers and these take place in a venue in Northamptonshire. One foster carer recently commented that the “support groups are fantastic, they really give me the chance the meet new carers in the local area and build friendships but more importantly, get good ideas on how to deal with certain issues that I may be facing with the child in my care”. Another carers said “having a social worker who lives in the area is important, we are not waiting for days for somebody to be able to visit us in an emergency situation. When we need support we need it now”.
