Some of our looked after children and carer’s got together last week for a support group and a chance to spend time socialising and playing.

Bringing the children and carers together is an important aspect in our agency as it is a great chance for all the children to meet each other and as one of the children said, “not judge each other”. There were a few new faces at our support group such as newly placed children, approved carers and a supervising social worker. Therefore, it was a great opportunity for everyone to meet each other and have fun.

Our support groups give our children and carers the opportunity to get together and ask any questions to either their social worker or the other carers themselves. It is a chance to build their fostering network through making new friends and sharing each other’s experiences. By speaking to other carers, they can take any advice or guidance they may have.
