Julie and Mike’s Fostering Testimonial
We decided to become foster carers as we both thought we would like to make a difference and be part of a child’s life and development. We wanted to provide a home of safety and love that would enable a disadvantaged and vulnerable young person to thrive and progress. To improve their circumstances and try and help them to improve their lives with structure, love and routine.
We both greatly enjoy being foster parents it is really fulfilling and also being part of a wider family within Sunbeam fostering agency which is fantastic. To see our children growing and flourishing and trying to make their lives that much better and more settled, the rewards of seeing a foster child smiling, happy and thriving are immense and we both thoroughly enjoy and love the fostering experience. The encouragement, support and praise are always there from Sunbeam for both of us and our children.
Fostering has improved both our lives we recognise that not all children have a settled and happy upbringing, and they can face many challenges physically and emotionally, and it’s important to show empathy and understanding and to work hard with love to make that difference in their young lives. The rewards of making a difference in any little or positive way are massive to us. If anyone is considering becoming a foster carer get on board, it’s sometimes demanding and challenging but the rewards and benefits of seeing your child progress from your love and guidance are truly worth it. You will have great support, training and encouragement from Sunbeam Fostering. Giving a foster child a loving and stable home and giving them the opportunity to thrive and progress in most aspects of their lives is an important and amazing experience. You will make a massive and positive difference in a child’s life which is an amazing achievement.
