Pride Month is a time of celebration, empowerment, and inclusivity for the LGBTQ+ community. It’s a month where we come together to honour the rich history and ongoing struggles of the community, while also recognizing and highlighting the achievements and contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals. As Pride Month comes to an end, we want to shed light on the heart-warming story of Adam and James who embarked on a transformative journey by fostering children through Sunbeam Fostering Agency.

We find fostering extremely rewarding, particularly as a same-sex couple, as the children we care for come into our lives fully accepting and without prejudice. It is amazing to create together a happy and accepting family where we can also accept the children and all of their differences. Although we are foster carers, it really is a family for us. Seeing the smiles and happiness in our foster children’s faces is what it is all about for us.

It has been very humbling for us to be able to foster and support our children in every aspect of their lives. Fostering is like climbing a mountain, it is very hard work, but it is worth it for the breeze at the top.
