Trip to Brighton
Sunbeam Pride recently took our carers, children and young people for a fun day out to Brighton. It was great for our carers to meet and talk about their fostering experiences and also a chance for our children and young people to build friendships and enjoy the day out together!
The usual summer day trip to a seaside this year was Brighton with 62 carers and children joining for the trip with three social workers. Brighton had been selected following the feedback from foster carers and in consultation with foster carer during support groups.
There were children with a range of ages from preschool to teenagers who attended with their carers.
The coach left Luton at 10am and arrived around 12.30pm people were then able to explore and take part in the various activities available. There was a sea life centre, fairground, beach, pier, huge zip wire and bag drop on the sea front, shops, and arcades. There were plenty of places to get food with fish and chips becoming the popular choice.
Some teenagers and carers braved to have a swim in the sea and tried some water sports while most of us walked around the attractions or having a relaxing time on the pebble beach.
Children did not want to end the day before seeing the sunset however considering the distance we had to say good bye to Brighton before sunset.
We look forward to our next outing!
